FIBA (the International Basketball Federation) runs global competitions with a huge fan community. To keep those fans engaged, FIBA relied on a mobile ecosystem of seven separate competition apps.
The challenge was to keep every app reliable and in line with FIBA’s evolving digital standards, while staying cost-effective. In particular, the apps had to stay fast and stable during high-traffic competition periods. At the same time, the mobile experience had to mature step by step, in line with FIBA’s new web ecosystem.

Overview
Together with FIBA and other ENEON group entities (including Riplee), we set up a pragmatic, long-term improvement approach for the mobile ecosystem.
Continuous optimization: we keep improving the frontend and backend, so navigation stays smooth, performance goes up and fans face less friction.
Real-time technical support during competitions: a dedicated technical team is on call during key events. As a result, incidents are handled right away, for organizers and users alike.
UX/UI redesign exploration: we also started a design phase to make the interfaces more intuitive and refined. The ambition is to reach a best-in-class mobile standard.
Result: overall, FIBA’s competition apps now evolve within a structured continuous-improvement model. Therefore, fans get a more consistent and engaging experience across the whole digital ecosystem.
