The FIBA (International Basketball Federation) runs global competitions followed by a massive fan community. To support this engagement, FIBA relied on a mobile ecosystem made of seven distinct competition apps.

The challenge was to keep all apps reliable and aligned with FIBA’s evolving digital standards while staying cost-effective. That meant improving performance and stability during high-traffic competition periods, and progressively raising the maturity of the mobile experience in line with the new FIBA web ecosystem.

Overview

Working alongside the FIBA and ENEON group entities (including Riplee), we set up a pragmatic, long-term improvement approach to strengthen the mobile ecosystem across competitions.

Continuous optimization: ongoing frontend and backend improvements to keep navigation smooth, boost performance, and reduce friction for fans.

Real-time technical support during competitions: a dedicated technical team available during key events to handle incidents immediately and ensure a seamless experience for both organizers and users.

UX/UI redesign exploration: a design reflection phase to make interfaces more intuitive and visually refined, with the ambition to reach a best-in-class mobile standard.

Result: FIBA’s competition apps evolve within a structured continuous-improvement model, enabling a more consistent and engaging fan experience across the entire digital ecosystem.
